We are living through a historical global event. Life is anything but normal and with the current level of uncertainty it is understandable to be feeling worry for those we love, grief for the events and opportunities we are missing and fear about the unknown future ahead of us. What is happening right now will be talked about for generations to come, schools are closed, sports and large events are cancelled, TP is being hoarded and people are quarantined… on a GLOBAL level.
We are encouraging all of our students to start a journal. This journal will be a place for you to keep record of your experiences through this global event. Your journal can take a variety of formats. You could write in a book, type a digital journal (perhaps on O365?), create a powerpoint, create a visual journal entry, clip pictures from a magazine to create a collage, draw and label a picture, take some photographs and print them out and include some labels or captions for each, create video diary, etc. Whatever you decide to create, remember to keep all your entries in one safe place.
Ideas of what you might record:
Please complete at least one entry per week.
By completing this weekly journal, you are creating a primary source for your own personal history. In 5, 10, 50 years you will be able to go back to this and share with others what it was like for you at his time. Who knows, it might even be used as an artifact in a future museum exhibit about this global pandemic!
Hopefully we will find a way to share pieces of your records as time goes on.
Stay safe and stay tuned for more.
